How to get an international passport?

For getting foreign passport you would need to apply for it in the migratory office.

In Nikel the office is situated in the police station building. Worktime intended for public access is on Tuesday 16.00 - 19.00 and on Friday 14.00 - 17.00

Download the application form. You can print it and fill-in by hand, but we recommend you to fill it using your text editor and print it afterwards, for it's seldom when someone fills everything correctly from the first time. In the case of pen-filling, you will probably need to reprint the blank and fill everything anew! No corrections in the filled blank are allowed!

Other accompanying documents are:

• General passport
• Work-book
• Military card (for males under 27)
• Last out-of-date foreign passport (if you have one)
• 2 photos of you
• Payed receipt for the state duty (400 RUR)

Concerning photos, the best way would be to go here as it is an only express photo office in Nikel, and ask there to make pictures specially for foreign passport. They know the format and requirements for these pictures.

Other document, that is not so obvious is the last about payment of state duty. We suggest you to download this file with already filled general data but that is your personal (like name and address) and the date. You will need just to correct a text written in green and then print the file. After printing, bring the receipt to the nearest Sberbank office for payment.

Thus, the chain of actions looks like this:

1. Download Sberbank receipt, fill-in neccessary data and print it
2. Go to Express photo and make pictures
3. Cross the road and pay the receipt at Sberbank department
4. Return to home and collect all required documents mentioned above
5. Download application, fill it and print it
6. In the evening (tomorrow's morning) take your photoes from Express Photo
7. Place all the papers and documents into some folder and pay a visit to migratory office on its working day

After the moment migration office accepts the application, it will take for authorities about 40 days to process it. The exact time is not defined, for this reason they recommend to call the office in 40 days. Telephone number in Nikel: 5-18-74. If they say your passport is ready, you can come in the public worktime (see above) and take it. Some line consisted of 2-10 persons is possible, so it could require up to 2 hours of waiting before your turn.
